Comfort also has a well-preserved downtown with 19th-century buildings showcasing German immigrant architecture.

This town is 45 minutes away from San Antonio and 3.5 hours away from Houston, which makes it the perfect place to explore on a day trip or a weekend stay. This two-day itinerary will show you where to stay, coffee shops, a restaurant and state park with an amazing view. Where to Stay

The Meyer Hotel – This charming inn located along Cypress Creek combines historic charm with modern comfort for a truly relaxing stay. During our visit, we stayed in the cozy Pecan Lodge room, which featured beautiful decor and a private balcony—perfect for enjoying the peaceful surroundings. One of the best parts about this inn is its convenient location, just a short walk from local restaurants and coffee shops, making it easy to explore the area while savoring the comfort of this delightful retreat.

Camp Comfort – This boutique hotel provides a one-of-a-kind experience with its charming cabins and trendy airstreams by a scenic creek. With amenities like a cozy social hall, sauna, and fire-pits, it’s the ideal mix of outdoor vibes and modern comfort. We stayed in a queen cabin and the highlight for me was the balcony, offering stunning views of the creek. It felt like camping, but with all the luxuries to make it a truly relaxing getaway.

Day 1

9 a.m. Grab coffee and pastries from Wonder’n Calf Espresso Bar and Bakery. Try their seasonal flavors or the house specialties. This cozy cafe is a converted house with several rooms and an outdoor patio.

10 a.m. Walk around the historic downtown and visit cute antique shops like, Comfort Antique Mall (this place is huge and you can get lost around the many halls) and Comfort Vintage & Bloom. Another stores to check out is Simply Comfort, Freethinker’s General Store and In the Haus. In these stores you can find unique clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods.

12:30 p.m. After exploring the downtown area head to La Calabria Pizzeria and Catering. This restaurants has one of the best views of the Texas Hill Country. John and I completely fell in love with it. The food, drinks and views were all phenomenal. For an appetizer try the Oven Baked Caprese and for the main dish Pasta Alla Vodka. If you want something refreshing to drink try the house lemonade, it’s really good! I recommend you to make a reservation, if you want to go during sunset time. We went during lunch time and it was perfect because we had the whole place for ourselves, since a lot of people don’t know they offer lunch only on Saturdays.

3 p.m. Head back to the hotel to relax for a fun night out in town.

6 p.m. For dinner head to The Board Couple, which is an adorable charcuterie, cheese and wine cafe. If you don’t drink alcohol they have a lot of non-alcoholic options. I really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere of this place, it’s perfect for a date since it’s a quiet place to unwind and relax.

8 p.m. Save room for dessert and head to Comfort Pizza for a delicious gelato. If you are still hungry order a pizza. If you are planning on eating here I recommend you to oder the pizza 2 hours ahead of time because they get really busy. This pizza joint is housed in a cute old gas station, the vive is very funky and retro.

9:30 p.m. Listen to live music and dance the night away at Remedy Hall. This place has amazing live music performances and the atmosphere is very lively, perfect for a night out!

Day 2

9 a.m. Enjoy delicious coffee and pastries at Comfort Coffee Co. Explore the antique store which has lots of cute items. Don’t forget to take a picture by the Comfort mural.

11 a.m. After checking out head to Guadalupe River State Park, this is a beautiful place to swim and hike. The scenery is breathtaking and there are plenty of spots by the river to relax. John and I had a wonderful time swimming and exploring this mesmerizing park. You could spend the whole day here. Make sure you bring snacks, water shoes, and water. 2 p.m. If you get hungry and want to eat delicious food check out Screaming Goat Yard & Tap. The Cajun food was very good and I really loved the chill atmosphere. There is a big outdoor patio for you to relax and see cute goats. They have live music on Sundays during brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4 p.m. Head back home after a weekend of fun adventures!

Dónde Hospedarse

The Meyer Hotel – Este encantador hotel, ubicado junto a Cypress Creek, ofrece la combinación perfecta de encanto histórico y comodidad moderna. Nos hospedamos en la habitación Pecan Lodge. Nos encantó tener un balcón privado y la hermosa decoración de la habitación. Una de las cosas que más me gustó de este lugar fue que está a poca distancia a pie de restaurantes y cafeterías.

Camp Comfort – Este hotel boutique ofrece acogedoras cabañas y remolques airstream, un entorno pintoresco junto al arroyo y espacios encantadores para relajarse, como una sala social, sauna y fogata. Este lugar te hace sentir como si estuvieras acampando, pero con todas las comodidades modernas. Nos quedamos en una cabaña con dos camas queen. Me encantó nuestro balcón con vista al arroyo.

Día 1

9 a.m. Toma un café y unos pasteles en Wonder’n Calf Espresso Bar and Bakery. Prueba sus sabores de temporada o las especialidades de la casa. Este acogedor café es una casa convertida, con varias habitaciones y un patio al aire libre.

10 a.m. Pasea por el centro histórico y visita lindas tiendas de antigüedades como Comfort Antique Mall (este lugar es enorme y puedes perderte entre sus muchos pasillos) y Comfort Vintage & Bloom. Otras tiendas que puedes explorar son Simply Comfort, Freethinker’s General Store e In the Haus. En estas tiendas encontrarás ropa única, accesorios, regalos y artículos para el hogar.

12:30 p.m. Después de explorar el área del centro, dirígete a La Calabria Pizzeria and Catering. Este restaurante tiene una de las mejores vistas de la región montañosa de Texas. John y yo quedamos completamente enamorados. La comida, las bebidas y las vistas fueron fenomenales. Como aperitivo, prueba la Oven Baked Caprese y, como plato principal, la Pasta Alla Vodka. Si buscas algo refrescante, la limonada de la casa es deliciosa. Te recomiendo hacer una reserva si quieres ir al atardecer. Nosotros fuimos al mediodía y fue perfecto porque teníamos todo el lugar para nosotros, ya que muchos no saben que ofrecen almuerzos solo los sábados.

3 p.m. Regresa al hotel para relajarte antes de una divertida noche en la ciudad.

6 p.m. Para la cena, dirígete a The Board Couple, una adorable cafetería de charcutería, queso y vino. Si no bebes alcohol, tienen muchas opciones sin alcohol. Me encantó la atmósfera íntima de este lugar, es perfecto para una cita, ya que es un lugar tranquilo para relajarse.

8 p.m. Guarda espacio para el postre y ve a Comfort Pizza para disfrutar de un delicioso gelato. Si todavía tienes hambre, ordena una pizza. Si planeas cenar aquí, te recomiendo pedir la pizza con 2 horas de anticipación porque se llena bastante. Esta pizzería está ubicada en una antigua gasolinera, y el ambiente es muy retro y divertido.

9:30 p.m. Escucha música en vivo y baila toda la noche en Remedy Hall. Este lugar tiene increíbles presentaciones de música en vivo y un ambiente muy animado, ¡perfecto para una salida nocturna!

Día 2

9 a.m. Disfruta de un delicioso café y pasteles en Comfort Coffee Co. Explora la tienda de antigüedades, que tiene muchos artículos encantadores. No olvides tomarte una foto junto al mural de Comfort.

11 a.m. Después de explorar, dirígete al Guadalupe River State Park. Este es un lugar hermoso para nadar y hacer senderismo. El paisaje es impresionante y hay muchos rincones junto al río para relajarse. John y yo pasamos un tiempo maravilloso nadando y explorando este parque cautivador. Podrías pasar todo el día aquí. 2 p.m. Si tienes hambre y quieres comer algo delicioso, visita Screaming Goat Yard & Tap. La comida cajún fue muy buena, y me encantó el ambiente relajado. Tienen un gran patio al aire libre donde puedes relajarte y ver adorables cabras. Los domingos, durante el brunch de 10 a.m. a 2 p.m., tienen música en vivo.

4 p.m. Regresa a casa después de un fin de semana lleno de divertidas aventuras.
