Intro

You need to visit Brenham, which is one of my favorite towns to visit near Houston, since it’s only one hour away. It’s also one of the cutest small towns in Texas. This town has southern charm and there are many things to see and do. Downtown Brenham has a lot of unique shops, coffee places and colorful murals. You will spend hours just looking at all of their unique shops.

One of my favorite things about Brenham is seeing the fields of bluebonnets and wildflowers in and around town. This day itinerary includes fun things to do. It also lists places to shop. You’ll find where to eat delicious food and BBQ in Brenham. I hope you have an amazing time exploring this cute town!

Itinerary

10 a.m. On your way to Brenham, stop for breakfast at Bevers Kitchen. It is inside a victorian-style cottage built around 1907 in Chappell Hill. Enjoy delicious home style food like the chicken fried steak. Their food always very good and the best part is dessert because they make some of the best pies in Texas.

11:30 a.m. After a tasty breakfast head to Antique Rose Emporium, which is a rose nursery. It’s a magical place for you to walk around the gardens. You can also buy plants here for a really good price. It’s free to walk around this beautiful nursery. You will be able to see a lot of bluebonnets on the road to this nursery.

1:30 p.m. After walking around outside get ice cream at Must Be Heaven, and ice cream store which has been open since 1982. The inside of the shop still looks like an antique ice cream store.

2 p.m. For lunch enjoy delicious BBQ at Pioneer Smokehouse, which is inside a historic train depot. This place has a big rustic outdoor patio. Sometimes there is live music on the weekends.

4 – 7 p.m. Walk around town and browse through all the boutique shops. Don’t forget to take pictures with all of the colorful murals and bluebonnets. Below are some of my favorite places in Downtown Brenham.

• If you get thirsty while walking around grab a mocha latte or lemonade from Mescalito Coffee. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Brenham. It also has a shop with lots of unique items.
• I recommend you to try the Bluebonnet Drink at Wired and Inspired, another good coffee shop in Brenham.
• Visit a very cute bookstore, The Book Nook. It has tons of new and old books.
• Stop by Toubin Park to learn about the local history and the use of the cisterns.
• One of the best spots to see bluebonnets in town is behind Ant Street Inn.
• 1844 Liquour Market, has a great selection of liquor and specialty items. The decoration of the store is super cute. Even if you don’t drink, I recommend you to stop by and visit this cute place.

7 p.m. For dinner head to Las Americas, which is a very good Latin American Restaurant with a laidback and friendly atmosphere. Try the Empanas Cubanas and Bisteck Encebollado. After you try this restaurant, you will see why it’s one of my favorite ones in town.

8:30 p.m. End you night with live music at HSF Biergarten, which has a great selection of beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Another place with live music is Floyd’s Lounge, which has a variety of wines and a very cozy atmosphere. If you love charcuterie boards, this is the place to enjoy one with a glass of wine.

11 p.m Head back to Houston after a day full of adventures!

10 a.m. De camino a Brenham, haz una parada para desayunar en Bevers Kitchen. Está ubicado dentro de una cabaña de estilo victoriano construida alrededor de 1907 en Chappell Hill. Disfruta de deliciosa comida casera como el chicken fried steak. Su comida siempre es muy buena y lo mejor es el postre, ya que hacen algunos de los mejores pasteles de Texas.

11:30 a.m. Después de un delicioso desayuno, dirígete a Antique Rose Emporium, que es un vivero de rosas. Es un lugar mágico para pasear por los jardines. También puedes comprar plantas a muy buen precio. Es gratis pasear por este hermoso vivero. Podrás ver muchos bluebonnets en el camino hacia este vivero.

1:30 p.m. Después de caminar al aire libre, ve a comer helado en Must Be Heaven, una heladería que ha estado abierta desde 1982. El interior de la tienda aún parece una heladería antigua.

2 p.m. Para el almuerzo, disfruta de un delicioso BBQ en Pioneer Smokehouse, que está dentro de una histórica estación de tren. Este lugar tiene un gran patio rústico al aire libre. A veces hay música en vivo los fines de semana.

4 – 7 p.m. Pasea por la ciudad y recorre todas las tiendas boutique. No olvides tomarte fotos con todos los murales coloridos y los bluebonnets. A continuación, te menciono algunos de mis lugares favoritos en el centro de Brenham:

• Si te da sed mientras caminas, toma un mocha latte o limonada en Mescalito Coffee. Esta es una de mis cafeterías favoritas en Brenham. También tiene una tienda con muchos artículos únicos.
• Te recomiendo probar la bebida Bluebonnet en Wired and Inspired, otra buena cafetería en Brenham.
• Visita una librería muy bonita, The Book Nook. Tiene montones de libros nuevos y antiguos.

7 p.m. Para la cena, dirígete a Las Americas, que es un muy buen restaurante latinoamericano con un ambiente relajado y amigable. Prueba las Empanadas Cubanas y el Bisteck Encebollado. Después de probar este restaurante, verás por qué es uno de mis favoritos en la ciudad.

8:30 p.m. Termina tu noche con música en vivo en HSF Biergarten, que tiene una gran selección de cervezas. Hay asientos tanto en el interior como en el exterior. Otro lugar con música en vivo es Floyd’s Lounge, que tiene una variedad de vinos y un ambiente muy acogedor. Si te encantan las tablas de embutidos, este es el lugar para disfrutar una con una copa de vino.

11 p.m. ¡Regresa a Houston después de un día lleno de aventuras!
