Okay so if you know me, you know Seattle holds a really special place in my heart. I’ve been going there basically every summer since I was a kid, my family is there, so it was kind of our thing. There’s something about that city that just gets you. Every summer I’d go back and there was always something new to explore, a neighborhood I hadn’t really paid attention to before, a spot I’d walked past a hundred times and finally stopped at. Seattle is one of those places that has a little bit of everything, amazing food, cool local vibes, incredible views of the water and the mountains on a good day. It never feels like the same trip twice.

And getting around is so easy, which I love. The public transit is actually great, light rail, buses, you can pretty much go anywhere without needing a car.

Whether you’re going with family, a group of friends, or your partner, Seattle just works for everyone. And if you want to go a little further, there are the cutest islands and nearby towns just a ferry ride away.

I put together a full 3-day itinerary so you can actually experience it the way I do. Some of my favorite neighborhoods, food spots, views, laid out day by day so you don’t have to stress about figuring it out yourself. Keep reading because I got you!

The Cheapest Way to Get from SEA-TAC Airport to Downtown Seattle

Okay this is a game changer and I had to mention it. SEA-TAC airport has its own Link Light Rail station right inside, you just follow the signs after baggage claim and hop on. The ride to downtown Seattle (Westlake Station) takes about 40 minutes and only costs around $3. Trains are frequent, clean, and super easy to navigate. No Ubers, no traffic, no surge pricing, just a smooth, cheap ride straight into the city. Honestly the best way to start your trip, skip the rideshare and take the train!

Best Place to Stay in Seattle Near the Space Needle

When it comes to where to stay, I always tell people location is everything in Seattle, you want to be close to the action without having to figure out transportation every single day. And honestly the spot that has never let me down is the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Seattle Downtown/Seattle Center.

I’ve stayed there myself and I loved it. The location is just unbeatable, you’re literally walking distance from the Space Needle, which is so convenient especially if you’re visiting for the first time. But it’s not just the Space Needle, you’re right in the middle of downtown so pretty much everything is at your doorstep. Restaurants, shops, Pike Place Market, the waterfront, all super easy to get to without needing to jump on a train or call a rideshare.

Seattle Day 1 Itinerary: Pike Place, Chinatown, Waterfront & Sunset Cruise

9 a.m. Check out Pike Place Market, it’s iconic for a reason, the fish throwing, the fresh flowers, the original Starbucks (yes you have to go). Grab breakfast here, walk around, soak it all in. And before you leave the market, you HAVE to stop at Pike Place Chowder, my favorite clam chowder spot. Get it in a bread bowl, thank me later. Oh and right around the corner from the market is the Gum Wall, yes, a wall covered in thousands of pieces of gum. It’s weird, it’s iconic, it’s very Seattle. You have to see it in person. Also squeeze in a stop at Old Stove Brewing Co. right inside Pike Place, the views of Puget Sound from there are absolutely stunning and grabbing a cold beer while looking out at the water is such a vibe.

12:30 p.m. Head to Chinatown-International District, just a short 10 minute walk or quick light rail stop from Pike Place. This neighborhood is so vibrant and full of culture and personality. For lunch head straight to Purple Dot Cafe, their dim sum is absolutely delicious. After lunch pop into New Century Tea Gallery, such a gem of a shop. They have a beautiful selection of teas to try and buy and the owner is genuinely one of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll meet. They’ll walk you through everything and make the whole experience so special. It’s one of those stops that feels really authentic and local which I love. Definitely don’t skip it.

2:30 p.m Visit the Seattle Aquarium, the new aquarium is absolutely beautiful, they did an amazing job with it. Budget about 2 hours to walk through everything and don’t miss the sea otters, they’re everything.

4:30 p.m. After that head down to the waterfront and make your way to Pier 58 which is so fun, that’s where you’ll find the iconic Seattle Great Wheel, a giant ferris wheel right on the water. The views from it are incredible so definitely hop on if you’re feeling it. And as you walk along the waterfront don’t forget to browse the little shops and stores along the way, there are some really cute spots to pick up souvenirs, Seattle gear, and local goodies. Great place to grab something for the people back home! Then wrap up the afternoon with dinner at The Fisherman’s Restaurant Seattle, the outside patio has the most beautiful view of the pier and the water. Fresh seafood, amazing views, great vibes.

6:30 p.m. End your first day on the water with a Tall Sailboat Sunset Harbor Cruise and I promise you it will be the highlight of your trip. I did this and I was completely blown away, seeing Seattle from the water as the sun sets is just something else. The skyline, the mountains in the background, the wildlife we spotted along the way, it was so peaceful and so beautiful all at the same time. You can grab a local wine or cold beer from the onboard bar and just sit back and take it all in. It’s the perfect way to close out your first day in the city. Click here to book the same tour I did! Seattle Day 2 Itinerary: Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park & Dinner at Ray’s Boathouse

9 a.m. Start your morning in Fremont, one of the quirkiest and most charming neighborhoods in Seattle. First stop, Fremont Coffee Company for your morning coffee. Such a cozy local spot, the kind of place where you just want to sit for a while. After that walk around and check out the Fremont Sunday Market if you’re visiting on a weekend, it’s an awesome outdoor market with vintage finds, local vendors, art, and food. Super fun to browse and such a Fremont thing to do. And before you leave the neighborhood you absolutely have to see the Fremont Troll, a giant sculpture of a troll hiding under the Aurora Bridge. It sounds random but it’s so iconic and genuinely cool in person.

1 p.m. From Fremont it’s just a short 5 minute drive or rideshare to Gas Works Park and the views from here are absolutely stunning. It’s a waterfront park built on the site of an old gasification plant and the skyline views of Seattle across Lake Union are some of the best in the entire city. Perfect spot to take photos, lay on the grass, and just take a breather before the afternoon. Pack some snacks and chill here for a bit, you’ll understand why locals love it so much.

3 p.m. Make your way over to Ballard for the afternoon. Start with the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, this is where boats pass between Puget Sound and Lake Union and you can watch the whole thing happen up close. There’s also a fish ladder where you can spot salmon swimming through which is honestly so cool and such a unique Seattle experience. After the locks take a walk through the neighborhood, browse the local shops and boutiques on Ballard Ave, and just soak up the vibe. Then head over to Golden Gardens Park, a beautiful waterfront park right on the water with incredible views of the mountains. It’s so peaceful and such a great spot to watch the sun start to get low in the sky before dinner.

7 p.m. End the day with dinner at Ray’s Boathouse and honestly there is no better way to close out a day in Ballard. It’s right on the water, the seafood is amazing, and the sunset views from there are absolutely gorgeous. It’s a little more of a sit down experience which feels perfect after a full day of exploring. Order the fresh seafood, grab a drink, and watch the sunset over Puget Sound.

Seattle Day 3: Iconic Landmarks, Sunset Views & Live Music to End the Trip

9 a.m. Start bright and early at the Space Needle and get there when it opens to beat the crowds. The views from the top are absolutely unreal, on a clear day you can see Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, and the entire Seattle skyline. It never gets old no matter how many times I’ve been up there. Take your time, take all the photos, and just enjoy it.

10:30 a.m. Right next door to the Space Needle is the Chihuly Garden and Glass and honestly it is one of the most beautiful things you will see in Seattle. Dale Chihuly’s glass sculptures are jaw dropping, the colors, the detail, the way the light hits everything. Even if art isn’t really your thing you will be blown away. Budget about an hour to an hour and a half here. After that walk around Seattle Center, there are gardens, fountains, and open spaces to just wander and relax. 12 p.m. For lunch there are plenty of great spots around Seattle Center but one of my personal favorites is Agave Cocina & Tequila in Queen Anne, it’s right nearby and the food is so good. Amazing Mexican food, great margaritas, and such a fun vibe. Honestly the perfect midday stop before heading out for the afternoon.

3 p.m. For your last afternoon head up to Meadowdale Beach Park. It’s honestly one of my favorite hikes in the entire Seattle area. It’s not a super intense hike but it is so beautiful. The trail takes you right alongside a little creek the whole way down which is so peaceful and pretty, and then you pop out onto the most stunning beach with unobstructed views of the mountains and Puget Sound. It’s one of those spots that not every tourist knows about which makes it feel even more special. Pack some snacks, take your time on the trail, and once you hit the beach just sit and take it all in. The perfect way to spend your last afternoon in Seattle and honestly such a beautiful way to say goodbye to the city.

6 p.m. Head back to the hotel to freshen up and recharge.

8 p.m. End your Seattle trip the right way with dinner and live music at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley. This place is iconic, incredible food, amazing cocktails, and world class live jazz all under one roof. The atmosphere is so warm and intimate and it just feels like the perfect Seattle sendoff. Whether you’re there with family, friends, or your partner it’s one of those evenings you’ll be talking about long after the trip is over. One thing I highly recommend, make your reservations ahead of time!

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: LA GUÍA DE VIAJE DEFINITIVA Y EL ITINERARIO DE 3 DÍAS QUE NECESITAS GUARDAR

Introducción

Okay, si me conocen, saben que Seattle tiene un lugar muy especial en mi corazón. En serio. He ido allí básicamente cada verano desde que era niña — mi abuela, tío y tías viven allí, así que era como nuestra tradición. Los veranos significaban empacar una maleta y rumbo a Seattle, y lo esperaba con ansias cada año. ¿Y honestamente? Nunca me cansé. Ni un poquito.

Hay algo en esa ciudad que simplemente te atrapa. Cada verano volvía y siempre había algo nuevo que explorar, un vecindario al que no le había prestado mucha atención antes, un lugar frente al que había pasado cien veces y al que finalmente entré. Seattle es uno de esos lugares que tiene un poco de todo — comida increíble, ambiente local genial, vistas impresionantes del agua y las montañas en un buen día. Nunca se siente como el mismo viaje dos veces.

Y moverse por la ciudad es súper fácil, lo cual me encanta. El transporte público es realmente bueno, tren ligero, autobuses, prácticamente puedes ir a cualquier lugar sin necesitar un carro. Lo cual, si alguna vez has lidiado con el estacionamiento en la ciudad, sabes que es una gran ventaja.

Ya sea que vayas con familia, un grupo de amigos o tu pareja, Seattle funciona para todos. Y si quieres ir un poco más lejos, hay las islas más lindas y ciudades cercanas a solo un viaje en ferry.

La Manera Más Económica de Llegar del Aeropuerto SEA-TAC al Centro de Seattle

Okay esto es un cambio de juego y tenía que mencionarlo. El aeropuerto SEA-TAC tiene su propia estación del Link Light Rail justo dentro — solo sigue las señales después de recoger tu equipaje y súbete. El viaje a downtown Seattle (Estación Westlake) tarda unos 40 minutos y cuesta solo alrededor de $3. Los trenes son frecuentes, limpios y súper fáciles de navegar. Sin Ubers, sin tráfico, sin precios de surge — solo un viaje tranquilo y económico directo a la ciudad. ¡Honestamente la mejor manera de comenzar tu viaje, olvídate del rideshare y toma el tren!

El Mejor Lugar para Hospedarse en Seattle Cerca de la Space Needle

Cuando se trata de dónde quedarse, siempre le digo a la gente que la ubicación lo es todo en Seattle — quieres estar cerca de la acción sin tener que lidiar con el transporte todos los días. Y honestamente el lugar que nunca me ha fallado es el Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Seattle Downtown/Seattle Center.

Me he quedado allí y me encantó la ubicación — literalmente estás a distancia a pie de la Space Needle, lo cual es súper conveniente especialmente si es tu primera visita. Pero no es solo la Space Needle, estás justo en el centro de downtown así que prácticamente todo está a tu alcance. Restaurantes, tiendas, Pike Place Market, el waterfront, todo súper fácil de llegar sin necesitar tomar un tren o llamar un rideshare.

Es el tipo de hotel donde dejas tus maletas y simplemente te vas. Sin tiempo perdido, sin averiguar cómo llegar a los lugares, solo directo a explorar la ciudad. Que es exactamente cómo debe sentirse un viaje.

Itinerario Día 1 en Seattle: Pike Place, Chinatown, Waterfront y Crucero al Atardecer

9 a.m. Llega temprano, a Pike Place Market. Es icónico por una razón, el lanzamiento de pescado, las flores frescas, el Starbucks original (sí, tienes que ir). Desayuna aquí, camina, empápate de todo. Y antes de salir del mercado TIENES que parar en Pike Place Chowder, sin duda mi clam chowder favorito de todos los tiempos. Estoy hablando del tipo de tazón que arruina todo el otro chowder para siempre. Pídelo en un pan, agradéceme después. Ah y justo a la vuelta de la esquina del mercado está el Gum Wall, sí, una pared cubierta de miles de chicles. Es raro, es icónico, es muy Seattle. Tienes que verlo en persona. También para en Old Stove Brewing Co. justo dentro de Pike Place, las vistas de Puget Sound desde allí son absolutamente impresionantes y tomarse una cerveza fría mientras miras el agua es todo un ambiente. Honestamente uno de mis momentos favoritos cada vez que visito.

12:30 p.m. Solo a 10 minutos a pie o una parada rápida en el tren ligero desde Pike Place visita Chinatown-Barrio Internacional. Este vecindario es tan vibrante y lleno de cultura y personalidad. Para almorzar ve directo al Purple Dot Cafe, su dim sum es absolutamente delicioso, uno de esos lugares que simplemente acierta cada vez. Después del almuerzo entra a New Century Tea Gallery, una joya de tienda. Tienen una hermosa selección de tés para probar y comprar y el dueño es genuinamente una de las personas más amables y serviciales que conocerás. Te guiará por todo y hará que toda la experiencia sea muy especial. Es una de esas paradas que se siente realmente auténtica y local lo cual me encanta. Definitivamente no te la saltes.

2:30 p.m Ve al Acuario de Seattle, el nuevo acuario es absolutamente hermoso, hicieron un trabajo increíble. Presupuesta unas 2 horas para recorrer todo y no te pierdas las nutrias marinas, son todo.

4:30 p.m. Después dirígete al waterfront y ve al Muelle 58 que es muy divertido, ahí es donde encontrarás la icónica Seattle Great Wheel, una noria gigante justo en el agua. Las vistas desde ella son increíbles así que súbete si te animas. Y mientras caminas por el waterfront no olvides explorar las pequeñas tiendas y negocios a lo largo del camino, hay algunos lugares muy lindos para comprar souvenirs, artículos de Seattle y golosinas locales. ¡Excelente lugar para conseguir algo para la gente en casa! Luego termina la tarde con cena en The Fisherman’s Restaurant Seattle, el patio exterior tiene la vista más hermosa del muelle y el agua. Mariscos frescos, vistas increíbles, ambiente genial. Una manera perfecta de terminar el día.

6:30 p.m. Termina tu primer día en el agua con un Crucero al Atardecer en Velero Alto y te prometo que será el punto culminante de tu viaje. Lo hice y quedé completamente impresionada, ver Seattle desde el agua mientras el sol se pone es algo especial. El skyline, las montañas de fondo, la vida silvestre que vimos en el camino, fue tan tranquilo y tan hermoso al mismo tiempo. Puedes tomar un vino local o una cerveza fría del bar a bordo y simplemente relajarte y disfrutarlo todo. Itinerario Día 2 en Seattle: Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park y Cena en Ray’s Boathouse

9 a.m. Comienza tu mañana en Fremont, uno de los vecindarios más peculiares y encantadores de Seattle. Primera parada, Fremont Coffee Company para tu café matutino. Un lugar local tan acogedor, del tipo donde solo quieres sentarte un rato. Después camina y visita el Fremont Sunday Market si estás de visita un fin de semana, es un mercado al aire libre increíble con artículos vintage, vendedores locales, arte y comida. Súper divertido de explorar y algo muy propio de Fremont. Y antes de salir del vecindario absolutamente tienes que ver el Fremont Troll, una escultura gigante de un troll escondido bajo el Puente Aurora. Suena aleatorio pero es tan icónico y genuinamente genial en persona.

1 p.m.  Desde Fremont es solo un corto viaje de 5 minutos en carro o rideshare al Gas Works Park y las vistas desde aquí son absolutamente impresionantes. Es un parque frente al agua construido en el sitio de una antigua planta de gasificación y las vistas del skyline de Seattle al otro lado del Lago Union son algunas de las mejores de toda la ciudad. El lugar perfecto para tomar fotos, tenderse en el césped y simplemente respirar antes de la tarde. Lleva algunos snacks y relájate aquí un rato — entenderás por qué a los locales les encanta tanto.

3 p.m. Dirígete a Ballard para la tarde. Comienza con las Esclusas Hiram M. Chittenden, aquí es donde los barcos pasan entre Puget Sound y el Lago Union y puedes ver todo el proceso de cerca. También hay una escalera de peces donde puedes ver salmones nadando que es honestamente tan genial y una experiencia tan única de Seattle. Después de las esclusas da un paseo por el vecindario, explora las tiendas y boutiques locales en Ballard Ave y simplemente disfruta el ambiente. Luego dirígete al Golden Gardens Park, un hermoso parque frente al agua con vistas increíbles del Sound y las montañas. Es tan tranquilo y un lugar tan maravilloso para ver cómo el sol empieza a bajar antes de la cena.

7 p.m. Termina el día con cena en Ray’s Boathouse y honestamente no hay mejor manera de cerrar un día en Ballard. Está justo en el agua, los mariscos son increíbles y las vistas del atardecer desde allí son absolutamente preciosas. Es una experiencia más de sentarse y relajarse que se siente perfecta después de un día completo de exploración. Pide los mariscos frescos, toma una bebida y observa el atardecer sobre Puget Sound. Una delicia total.

Día 3 en Seattle: Lugares Icónicos, Vistas al Atardecer y Música en Vivo para Cerrar el Viaje

9 a.m. Comienza bien temprano en la Space Needle y llega cuando abre para evitar las multitudes. Si te hospedas en el Fairfield estás literalmente a distancia a pie así que es súper conveniente. Las vistas desde arriba son absolutamente increíbles, en un día despejado puedes ver el Monte Rainier, Puget Sound y todo el skyline de Seattle. Nunca se cansa sin importar cuántas veces haya estado allí. Tómate tu tiempo, toma todas las fotos y simplemente disfrútalo.

10:30 a.m. Justo al lado de la Space Needle está el Chihuly Garden and Glass y honestamente es una de las cosas más hermosas que verás en Seattle. Las esculturas de vidrio de Dale Chihuly son impresionantes, los colores, el detalle, la manera en que la luz lo toca todo. Incluso si el arte no es realmente lo tuyo quedarás maravillado. Presupuesta una hora a una hora y media aquí. Después camina por Seattle Center, hay jardines, fuentes y espacios abiertos para simplemente deambular y relajarse. ¡Puedes conseguir entradas para la Space Needle y Chihuly Garden and Glass juntos aquí, haz clic aquí para reservar! Comida mexicana increíble, margaritas geniales y un ambiente tan divertido. Honestamente la parada perfecta a mediodía antes de salir para la tarde.

3 p.m.  Para tu última tarde dirígete al Meadowdale Beach Park y este lugar está tan cerca de mi corazón — honestamente una de mis caminatas favoritas en toda el área de Seattle. No es una caminata súper intensa pero es tan hermosa. El sendero te lleva justo al lado de un pequeño arroyo todo el camino hacia abajo lo cual es tan tranquilo y bonito, y luego llegas a la playa más impresionante con vistas sin obstáculos de las montañas y Puget Sound. Como el tipo de vistas que te detienen en seco y te quitan el aliento. Es uno de esos lugares que no todos los turistas conocen lo que lo hace sentir aún más especial. Lleva algunos snacks, tómate tu tiempo en el sendero y una vez que llegues a la playa simplemente siéntate y disfrútalo todo. La manera perfecta de pasar tu última tarde en Seattle y honestamente una manera tan hermosa de despedirse de la ciudad.

6 p.m. Regresa al hotel, date una ducha y arréglate.

8 p.m. Termina tu viaje a Seattle de la mejor manera con cena y música en vivo en Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley. Este lugar es icónico, comida increíble, cócteles increíbles y jazz en vivo de clase mundial todo bajo un mismo techo. El ambiente es tan cálido e íntimo y simplemente se siente como la despedida perfecta de Seattle. Ya sea que estés allí con familia, amigos o tu pareja es una de esas noches de las que hablarás mucho tiempo después del viaje. Una cosa que recomiendo mucho ¡haz tus reservaciones con anticipación! Este lugar se llena rápido especialmente los fines de semana y no querrás perderte esta experiencia.
