1:30 p.m. Enjoy a glass of wine at Duchman Family Winery, where the stunning vineyards and charming Tuscan-style patio make you feel like you’ve escaped to Italy. It’s the perfect place to relax and taste the flavors of Texas wine in a beautiful, serene setting.
2 p.m. Enjoy a mouthwatering lunch at Salt Lick BBQ, my absolute favorite barbecue spot in Texas. From tender brisket to flavorful ribs, every bite is just perfect. After your meal, kick back and relax in the Salt Lick Cellar, where you can sip on wine and soak in the laid-back Hill Country vibe.
5 p.m. End your wine tour with a visit to Fall Creek Vineyards in Driftwood. The property is warm and inviting, with a lovely atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. Sip on exceptional wines as you take in the serene surroundings and soak up the charm of this Hill Country gem.
7 p.m. Head back to your stay to relax and unwind after a full day. Take a moment to step outside, where the clear Hill Country skies offer the perfect chance to stargaze and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.
Day 2
9 a.m. Start your day with breakfast at Oak Creek Cafe. Don’t miss their famous chicken-fried steak, perfectly paired with a refreshing glass of sweet tea. And whatever you do, save room for dessert—their pecan cobbler is an absolute must-try!
11 a.m. Go hiking at Pedernales Falls State Park, one of my absolute favorite state parks in Texas. The trails here offer breathtaking views of the Pedernales Falls, where the river cascades over massive limestone slabs—a sight worth seeing! In the summer, you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the Pedernales River. The park also features picnic areas, wildlife viewing opportunities, and plenty of quiet spots to soak in the natural beauty, making it a perfect escape for outdoor lovers of all ages.
1 p.m. After a morning of hiking, enjoy a delicious lunch at Rolling in Thyme & Dough. This charming cafe serves up amazing sandwiches and pastries. The cozy vibe inside and the lovely outdoor patio make it a perfect place to relax and recharge.
3 p.m. Head to Treaty Oak Distilling, a spot that truly feels like Texas. From the wide-open space to the amazing whiskey, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Hill Country vibe.
5 p.m. finish your day at Fitzhugh Brewing, a beautiful and charming spot perfect for the whole family. With a big outdoor space, it’s kid-friendly and great for relaxing while enjoying delicious craft beer, food and the laid-back Hill Country atmosphere.
