Where to Stay

Here are some of the best places to stay in Dallas for a fun getaway. These hotels are conveniently located near many of the city’s top attractions, making them ideal choices for an enjoyable stay.

Sheraton Suites Market Center Dallas – I really love the private balconies. They provide a great view of the Dallas skyline. The rooms are spacious and have a small living room with a desk. The desk also has a nice view of the city. This hotel is perfect for a couple, solo traveler or if traveling with kids. This hotel is located near the Design District and Dallas Market.

Drey Hotel – A 50-room boutique hotel with resort-like amenities is located in The Village Dallas. This hotel is also perfect for a staycation in Dallas. Many restaurants, coffeeshops, and boutiques are within walking distance. This stay is perfect for a solo traveler or couple.

Virgin Hotels Dallas – This modern designed hotel is located in the Design District of Dallas. The rooftop lounge and pool have a beautiful view of the city. One of my favorite things about this hotel is the cute coffee shop. I love Funny Library Coffee Shop. The onsite restaurant is called Commons Club. This hotel is perfect for a solo traveler or couple.

Best Way to Move Around

If you are visiting Dallas from another state or country. You can rent a car. You can also use Uber to move around. If you want to rent a car, I recommend you to use Turo. It’s a car sharing company. It is really easy to use. It is also more affordable than renting a car, in my opinion.

Day 1

8:30 a.m. Enjoy a delicious Guatemalan breakfast at one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, San Martin Bakery and Restaurant. This restaurant is a must stop every time I visit Dallas and it never disappoints. Try a Guatemalan Hot Chocolate or coffee and one of their traditional dishes like Motuleno or Pericos. There is also a bakery inside the restaurant with lots of pan dulce to try!

11 a.m. After a filling breakfast head to the Dallas Museum of Art. The general admission to this museum is FREE every day. This is an amazing museum to explore because it’s one of the largest Art Museums in the USA.

3 p.m. After exploring the museum, you should walk to Klyde Warren Park. It is an urban park. The park provides a serene escape amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. You can enjoy lush green spaces. You can interact with water features. A variety of recreational activities are available. All of these are FREE for everyone. For lunch try the food from the many on-site food trucks or restaurants. You need to try the famous doughnuts from The Salty Donut, they are delicious! 

5 p.m. Take the M- Line Trolley around Dallas Arts District. Explore more around the area. Enjoy a ride in a restored historic streetcar.

7 p.m. Enjoy dinner with a beautiful skyline view at Sky Blossom in downtown Dallas. This restaurant is a Vietnamese Bistro with delicious food and very instagrammable drinks.

9 p.m. After dinner walk to AT&T Discovery District. Enjoy the amazing light shows at the globe, wall and plaza. If you want to grab dessert, go to the Exchange Food Hall. You will find a variety of food options there. These things to do in Downtown Dallas are a must!

Day 2

9:30 a.m. Try Costa Rican lattes and empanadas at The Berni Bean Coffee Company.

11 a.m. For lunch eat at a renowned barbecue spot, Pecan Lodge. Everything here is very good! Seating is spacious and there is a patio for when the weather is nice. I’m definitely planning on going back on my next visit to Dallas!

1 p.m. Walk, shop and take pictures with all the vibrant murals around Deep Ellum. On Saturdays there is an outdoor market where you can shop for unique finds.

4 p.m. After exploring Deep Ellum, head to the the Dallas Farmer Market. Shop at local shops. Enjoy delicious food from local vendors. I love visiting this Farmers Market because it’s very big and I love supporting local business.

6 p.m. Head to the hotel to rest and get ready for dinner.

9 p.m. Start your evening at a hidden Latin speakeasy in Dallas that is disguised as a bridal shop. La Viuda Negra has unique drinks and delicious Mexico City style food.

11 a.m. If you want to continue the night, go to Yellow Rosa. It is a hidden oasis. You will find a blend of Tulum and San Miguel Allende vibes there.

Day 3

11 a.m. After a fun night out in Dallas, enjoy a tasty brunch at Xaman Cafe in Bishop Arts. This is another of my favorite spots in Dallas for brunch. Try the Chilaquiles con Mole, they are to die for! My favorite drink here is the Horchata Matcha, it’s very good.

12:30p.m. After brunch walk to the corner of the street and take a picture with the Selena mural.

1 p.m. Walk around Bishop Arts and enjoy a day here. There is a lot to do! This is why it’s one of my favorite places in Dallas. Here are some of my favorite spots in Bishops Arts District:

• Marcel Market – French store with lots of unique finds.
• The Wild Detectives – Bookstore with a bar and coffee shop.
• Oasis Plant Shop – My favorite plant shop in Dallas, it’s super cute!
• Mosaic Makers Collective – Local women cooperative with lots of cute gifts.
• MELT Ice Creams – A handmade ice cream shop with unusual flavors. Try the Blackberry Jam flavor.

6 p.m. For dinner enjoy a delicious meal at a Southern European-inspired restaurant, Paradiso. The decor of this place is super chic and cute. If the weather is nice you can enjoy your dinner at the stunning patio. I recommend you to make reservations because this place gets very busy.

8 p.m. For a fun Dallas nightlife in Bishop Arts head to these places:

• Enjoy live music at Revelers Hall. This jazz hall always has amazing musicians!
• Casablanca, a Moroccan style lounge with good music and drinks. If you love sing, there are also private karaoke rooms.
• Bar Eden Lounge at Paradiso is a hip cocktail bar with great drinks and a good atmosphere.
• Ayuahuasca, a hidden speakeasy in Xaman Cafe. It has a very chill ambience but the drinks here are very good.

Sheraton Suites Market Center Dallas: Me encantan los balcones privados. Ofrecen una gran vista del horizonte de Dallas. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y tienen una pequeña sala de estar con un escritorio. El escritorio también tiene una bonita vista de la ciudad. Este hotel es perfecto para una pareja, un viajero solo o si viajas con niños. Este hotel está ubicado cerca del Design District y del Dallas Market.

Drey Hotel: Un hotel boutique de 50 habitaciones con comodidades tipo resort, ubicado en The Village Dallas. Este hotel también es perfecto para una estancia en Dallas. Muchos restaurantes, cafeterías y boutiques están a poca distancia a pie. Esta estancia es perfecta para un viajero solo o una pareja.

Virgin Hotels Dallas: Este hotel de diseño moderno está ubicado en el Design District de Dallas. El lounge y la piscina en la azotea tienen una hermosa vista de la ciudad. La Mejor Manera de Moverse

Si estás visitando Dallas desde otro estado o país, puedes alquilar un coche. También puedes usar Uber para moverte. Si prefieres alquilar un coche, te recomiendo usar Turo. Es una empresa de car sharing. Es muy fácil de usar y, en mi opinión, más asequible que alquilar un coche tradicional.

Día 1

8:30 a.m. Disfruta de un delicioso desayuno guatemalteco en uno de mis restaurantes favoritos en Dallas, San Martin Bakery and Restaurant. Este restaurante es una parada obligatoria cada vez que visito Dallas y nunca decepciona. Prueba un chocolate caliente guatemalteco o un café y uno de sus platos tradicionales como los Motuleños o los Pericos. ¡También hay una panadería dentro del restaurante con mucho pan dulce para probar!

11 a.m. Después de un desayuno abundante, dirígete al Museo de Arte de Dallas. La entrada general a este museo es GRATIS todos los días. Este es un museo increíble para explorar. Además, es uno de los museos de arte más grandes de los EE. UU.

3 p.m. Después de explorar el museo, debes caminar hasta Klyde Warren Park. Es un parque urbano que ofrece un escape sereno en medio del bullicio de la ciudad. Puedes disfrutar de espacios verdes exuberantes e interactuar con las fuentes de agua. Hay una variedad de actividades recreativas disponibles, todas GRATUITAS para todos. Para el almuerzo, prueba la comida de los muchos camiones de comida o restaurantes en el lugar. ¡Debes probar las famosas donas de The Salty Donut, son deliciosas!

5 p.m. Toma el tranvía M-Line alrededor del Distrito de las Artes de Dallas. Explora más la zona y disfruta de un paseo en un tranvía histórico restaurado.

7 p.m. Disfruta de una cena con una hermosa vista del horizonte en Sky Blossom, en el centro de Dallas. Este restaurante es un bistró vietnamita con comida deliciosa y bebidas muy instagrameables.

9 p.m. Después de la cena, camina hasta el Distrito de Descubrimiento de AT&T. Disfruta de los increíbles espectáculos de luces en el globo, la pared y la plaza. Si quieres tomar un postre, ve a Exchange Food Hall. Allí encontrarás una variedad de opciones de comida. ¡Estas actividades en el centro de Dallas son imprescindibles!

Día 2

9:30 a.m. Prueba los lattes costarricenses y las empanadas en The Berni Bean Coffee Company.

11 a.m. Para el almuerzo, come en un famoso lugar de barbacoa, Pecan Lodge. ¡Todo aquí es muy bueno! El espacio para sentarse es amplio y hay un patio para disfrutar cuando el clima es agradable. ¡Definitivamente planeo volver en mi próxima visita a Dallas!

1 p.m. Camina, compra y toma fotos con todos los vibrantes murales alrededor de Deep Ellum. Los sábados hay un mercado al aire libre donde puedes comprar hallazgos únicos.

4 p.m. Después de explorar Deep Ellum, dirígete al Dallas Farmer Market. Compra en tiendas locales y disfruta de deliciosa comida de los vendedores locales. Me encanta visitar este mercado porque es muy grande y me encanta apoyar a los negocios locales.

6 p.m. Dirígete al hotel para descansar y prepararte para la cena.

9 p.m. Comienza tu noche en un speakeasy latino oculto en Dallas que está disfrazado de tienda de novias. La Viuda Negra tiene bebidas únicas y deliciosa comida al estilo de la Ciudad de México.

11 p.m. Si quieres continuar la noche, ve a Yellow Rosa. Es un oasis escondido donde encontrarás una mezcla de vibras de Tulum y San Miguel de Allende.

Día 3

11 a.m. Después de una divertida noche en Dallas, disfruta de un sabroso brunch en Xaman Cafe en Bishop Arts. Este es otro de mis lugares favoritos en Dallas para el brunch. Prueba los Chilaquiles con Mole, ¡son deliciosos! Mi bebida favorita aquí es el Horchata Matcha, es muy buena.

12:30 p.m. Después del brunch, camina hasta la esquina de la calle y toma una foto con el mural de Selena.

1 p.m. Pasea por Bishop Arts y disfruta del día aquí. ¡Hay mucho que hacer! Por eso es uno de mis lugares favoritos en Dallas. Aquí tienes algunos de mis lugares favoritos en el Distrito de Bishop Arts:

Si el clima es agradable, puedes disfrutar de tu cena en el impresionante patio. Te recomiendo hacer reservaciones porque este lugar se llena mucho.

8 p.m. Para una divertida noche en Bishop Arts, dirígete a estos lugares:

• Disfruta de música en vivo en Revelers Hall. . ¡Esta sala de jazz siempre tiene músicos increíbles!
• Casablanca, un lounge de estilo marroquí con buena música y bebidas. Si te gusta cantar, también hay salas de karaoke privadas.
• Bar Eden Lounge at Paradiso es un bar de cócteles moderno con excelentes bebidas y buen ambiente.
• Ayuahuasca, un speakeasy oculto en Xaman Cafe. Tiene un ambiente muy relajado y las bebidas aquí son muy buenas.
